Growing up I loved horses, writing, Nancy Drew and Victoria Holt books. When I became older, I discovered another passion: law enforcement. As one of the first female state troopers in Iowa, as a fraud investigator with the state, and later as the mother of triplets (plus one) I learned two valuable lessons that have served me well in my pursuit of a professional writing career: never give up and never quit laughing. 

Now I am so very lucky because I get to take all those experiences, interests, and "love of laughter" and incorporate them into my books. And that's why my Calamity Jayne Mysteries feature cowboys and cops, horses and whodunnits--and hopefully give readers a chuckle or two. In addition to my Calamity Jayne books, I am currently at work on a young adult series of scary novels, a new humorous mystery series, and a police procedural series.
